Job Title: Property Lawyer
Location: West London
Contract: Full-Time 3 to 6 month ongoing contract 
Salary: Competitive (POB Grade)
Start Date: £45.86 p/hr umbrella 
Reporting To: Principal Lawyer (Housing & Property)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Property Lawyer to join our in-house Housing and Property Legal Team. Based in West London, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality legal services across a broad range of conveyancing and property matters, including both complex and routine transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on a wide range of property transactions including acquisitions, disposals, and compulsory purchase orders.
  • Manage residential and commercial conveyancing matters, including sales to council tenants and agreements with housing associations.
  • Advise on legal issues relating to easements, covenants, boundaries, and more.
  • Draft, serve, and manage notices under relevant legislation such as the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954.
  • Support the Council at inquiries, hearings, and tribunals, including preparing legal documents and evidence.
  • Deliver special legal projects and advise on service planning and policy development.
About You
Essential Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEX with a current right of audience in County Court.
  • Proven experience in both commercial and residential property law.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly.
Desirable
  • Local authority experience.
  • Advocacy experience in Magistrates’ Court.
  • Knowledge of housing law and civil court procedures.
