📍 Location: North West England
💰 Pay Rate: £42 per hour
🕒 Full-Time | Office-Based | Immediate Start

Are you a confident and experienced Qualified Social Worker ready to step into a pivotal role? We’re seeking a Independent Review Officer to join a passionate and high-performing team in the North West. This is a critical safeguarding role where your expertise will help shape the futures of vulnerable children and families. As Child Protection Chair, you'll independently lead and manage Initial and Review Child Protection Conferences, Children Looked After Reviews, and Foster Carer Annual Reviews, ensuring they are conducted within statutory timelines and meet all regulatory standards. This is a full-time, office-based position. Please ensure you’re fully committed to on-site working before applying — remote working is not available for this role.

🌟 What You’ll Be Doing:

Chairing complex multi-agency meetings, confidently managing challenging dynamics
Ensuring statutory processes are followed and timelines are met
Driving forward best outcomes for children and families through robust planning and oversight
Collaborating with social workers and key partners to maintain a high standard of practice
Monitoring care plans and making recommendations to improve service delivery
Advocating for children’s voices to be heard in all decision-making processes
Offering guidance to social workers, students, and other professionals as needed

🔍 What We’re Looking For:

Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
A minimum of 5 years’ post-qualified experience working with children and families
Proven ability to chair multi-agency meetings confidently and effectively
Strong working knowledge of child protection legislation and safeguarding procedures
Ability to build meaningful relationships and challenge practice where needed
Excellent communication, mediation, and negotiation skills
A passion for quality, accountability, and improving outcomes for children
A creative, forward-thinking, and reflective approach to practice
