Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00, flexible remote option)
Salary: Competitive PAYE: £38.10+| Umbrella: £50.05

Are you a qualified Legal Executive with a passion for childcare law? NRW People is excited to offer a prestigious temporary Senior Legal Officer role with Cardiff Council, based at County Hall with remote working options. Starting3 November 2025, this 13-week position covers a vacant post, offering a chance to deliver expert legal support in a dynamic team.

What You’ll Do:
  • Manage a caseload of childcare (public and private law) cases, preparing court applications, drafting statements, and representing the Council.
  • Provide robust legal advice, liaise with social workers and agencies, and ensure quality assurance of documentation under minimal supervision.
  • Work 37 hours weekly (09:00 - 17:00), collaborating remotely or at various locations as needed, with a focus on timely case progression.
What We’re Looking For:
  • A qualified Legal Executive with experience in childcare or adult services law, plus strong drafting and communication skills (training provided for new legislation).
  • Ability to work full-time (37 hours) independently, handle pressure, and travel at short notice if required.
  • Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance to Cardiff.
