Are you a dedicated Social Care Qualified Children Social Worker looking to make a difference in Brecon? NRW People is thrilled to offer a part-time temporary role within the Care and Support team, based at Ty Brycheiniog in Brecon. Starting 6 October 2025, this 12-week position offers a chance to support vulnerable children and families in the south of Powys, a region known for its scenic beauty and tight-knit communities.

What You’ll Do:

• Conduct assessments and develop care plans for children in need, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Provide tailored support to families, collaborating with multi-agency teams to deliver effective interventions.
• Monitor and review cases, offering guidance to promote positive outcomes for children in care and support settings.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with Social Care Wales standards and safeguarding protocols.
• Contribute to community-based initiatives, enhancing local support networks in Brecon and surrounding areas.

What We’re Looking For:

• A qualified Social Worker with experience in children’s care and support services.
• Strong assessment and case management skills, with a compassionate approach to family support.
• Ability to work part-time (22 hours over 3 days) and travel within south Powys (e.g., 24 minutes to Crickhowell, 30 minutes to Builth Wells).
• Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance to Brecon, Powys.

Essential Requirements:

• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• 5 years of references/work history.
• DBS Summary Form (to be submitted with application).
• Current Social Care Wales Registration.
• Signed Confidentiality Agreement (required upon offer acceptance).
