English Teacher – QTS or ECT

  • Salary: £175 – £250 per day (depending on experience)
  • Contract: Full-time, long-term supply
  • Start Date: September 2025
 
The Role:
In this role, you will teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging and challenging lessons that foster a love for language and literature. You will work within a collaborative department with high standards and a focus on student progress and achievement.
 
Key responsibilities include:
  • Planning and delivering creative, high-quality English lessons
  • Preparing students for GCSE English Language and Literature exams
  • Tracking and assessing student progress
  • Managing classroom behaviour positively and effectively
  • Contributing to departmental activities and wider school initiatives
 
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will:
  • Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) – ECTs are encouraged to apply
  • Have strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature
  • Be confident in delivering lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills
  • Show enthusiasm for engaging students of all abilities
  • Be committed to continuous professional development
