SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant
 
Do you want hands-on experience supporting pupils with additional needs before teacher training? Could you deliver calm, consistent 1:1 and small-group support that helps children learn with confidence?

*** ‘Good’ primary school, Yardley
*** 1:1 and small group support
 
The Role:
You’ll work with the SENCO and class teachers to provide tailored support for pupils with additional needs. Expect to run short interventions, use visual supports and clear routines, and help pupils regulate and re-engage with learning. You’ll adapt tasks, note simple progress, and share next steps with staff and parents.
 
The Candidate:
You’re a graduate who communicates clearly, stays patient under pressure, and builds trust quickly. You follow support plans, keep boundaries consistent, and are motivated to help children overcome barriers to learning.
 
Requirements
• Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject.
• Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
• Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
• Desire to work in education/with children – Genuine interest in SEN, behaviour support and pupil wellbeing.
• Experience working with children – Any relevant experience (SEN support, mentoring, tutoring, volunteering) is desirable but not essential.
