Job Description
Are you a passionate Music Teacher who believes in the power of music to inspire, engage, and connect with children of all abilities? This warm and welcoming special school in Solihull is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Music Teacher to teach small classes of children with a range of special educational needs.
Working two days per week (Monday and Friday), the Music Teacher will deliver creative, inclusive lessons that bring joy to learning and encourage every pupil to express themselves through music. You’ll be supported by experienced teaching assistants and a leadership team that values creativity and the arts as part of a broad and balanced curriculum.
Job Role:
- Teaching engaging and accessible music lessons to small groups of primary and secondary-aged pupils with a range of learning needs.
- Using a variety of instruments, technology, and approaches to make music enjoyable and inclusive for all learners.
- Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and therapists to support pupils’ communication, confidence, and creativity.
- Adapting lessons to meet the individual needs and abilities of students with complex learning difficulties, autism, or sensory needs.
- Encouraging participation and self-expression through performance, rhythm, and sound exploration.
- Contributing to the school’s creative curriculum and wider enrichment activities.
- Experience teaching music, ideally within a SEND or inclusive education setting.
- A patient, creative, and adaptable approach to teaching.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- A genuine passion for helping children discover the joy of music.
