Pastoral Lead – Secondary School – Walsall
Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning? A secondary school in Walsall is seeking a dedicated and experienced Pastoral Lead to work with students who have additional learning needs, including Autism, ADHD, and SEMH. This vital role focuses on providing emotional and behavioural support to ensure students feel safe, understood, and ready to learn.

As a Pastoral Lead, you will be responsible for building positive relationships with students, offering targeted interventions, and working closely with staff, parents, and external agencies. Your role will involve developing strategies to promote attendance, engagement, and well-being, while supporting a whole-school approach to inclusive pastoral care. This is an opportunity to make a real impact in a role where no two days are the same. This role requires previous experience as a Pastoral Lead, Head of Year, or HLTA.

Job Role:
  • Supporting students with additional learning needs on a 1-1 and small group basis within the schools learning hub
  • Working closely with the SENCO and pastoral team to implement support strategies
  • Developing positive relationships with students to promote well-being and engagement
  • Supporting behaviour management and emotional regulation
  • Liaising with parents, carers, and external professionals
