Job Description
The purpose of this role is to drive, and programme manage the Industrial Emissions Directive (IED) and digester clean, inspection and refurbishment (CIR) programmes.
You will be accountable for ensuring the programmes are effectively defined and managed to remain on track with regular performance and delivery reporting along with engaging all key stakeholders.
Proactively identify opportunities for sustainable continuous improvement within the programmes and business processes to deliver Thames Water outcomes.
Monday – Friday, 36 hours per week
Location – Hybrid, Clearwater Court, Reading, RG1 8DB
What you will be doing as a IED Programme Manager
- Define and agree programmes of work across the estate based on digester age, risk score and sludge logistics to ensure that all digesters are within their 10 year inspection.
- Programme & Risk Management - Deliver sustainable programmes and financial out-performance against already approved budgets and report on performance monthly.
- Review performance and adjust accordingly through quarterly forecasting.
- Manage key stakeholder relationships relevant to IED and the Digester programmes, encourage and implement any innovation to develop a continuous improvement project culture and communicate actively with all support teams.
- Engaging with Operations, Capital Maintenance Projects, TOTEX, Technical and Subject Matter Experts to validate and agree scope, costs and support the creation and delivery of improvement strategies.
- Report and escalate programme issues, delays and risks to the IED and Digester & Biogas Steerco.
- Provide input and detail into routine and regular reports, i.e. Exec and Board papers.
- Project Management, or proven track record in delivering business projects.
- Corporate membership of a relevant professional body.
- Continuous Improvement / Lean / Six Sigma qualification or equivalent experience.
- Educated to degree level in Engineering or Science.
- Proven track record of managing programmes from an operational / utilities business
- Leadership of a remote-based team.
- Relevant business or technical experience.
- Ability to analyse, interpret and effectively communicate written data and information to drive performance.
- Tenacity and the ability to positively influence and work collaboratively with all levels of an organisation to achieve improved business outcomes.
- Due to the nature of the role a Full UK Driving Licence is required.
- Offering a salary up to £70,000 per annum plus a car allowance on top.
- Annual Leave - 26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with the length of service. (plus bank holidays)
