Permanent | Full-Time | Monday – Friday, 08:45am – 17:30pm

Due to continued success and ambitious expansion plans, we are recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join the Head Office team based in Plymouth.

About the Role:
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Finance Assistant to further their career within a dynamic and fast-paced finance department. Initially centred on Purchase Ledger, the role will quickly evolve to support a range of finance projects and contribute across various teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process high volumes of purchase ledger invoices and credit notes accurately
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and goods received in a timely manner
  • Support creditor reconciliations and liaise with suppliers to resolve queries
  • Maintain precise financial records through efficient data capture and processingAssist with month-end processes including accruals, prepayments, and journal entries
  • Contribute to cash and cost control (CC) procedures
  • Analyse actual figures against budgets during month-end reporting
  • Participate in cross-departmental finance project work
  • Provide ad hoc support to other finance functions as needed

Person Specification:
  • Proven experience in a similar finance or accounts role, particularly with Purchase Ledger
  • Ability to adapt to various transactional tasks in a fast-moving finance environment
  • Good understanding of accounting concepts such as accruals and reconciliations
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Proficient in MS Excel and familiar with finance systems
  • Organised with effective communication skills
  • Team player with a proactive and flexible approach
  • Ideally AAT qualified or currently studying towards AAT
