PART TIME Fundraising Assistant 
Edinburgh (Hybrid/Office-based)
26 hours per week
Salary: £26,459 – £30,828 (Full-Time Equivalent)

Job Purpose The Fundraising Assistant will provide proactive, high-quality support across a range of fundraising activities, ensuring campaigns, events, donor care, and supporter communications are delivered smoothly and to a high standard.
This role plays a key part in ensuring that fundraising initiatives and supporter experiences run efficiently and effectively, enabling senior leadership to focus on strategic priorities. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail will support accurate record-keeping, reporting, and continuous improvement across fundraising activity.
The role offers the opportunity to gain broad experience across community, corporate, and digital fundraising, while contributing meaningfully to the organisation’s charitable mission.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience Education
  • Formal qualification at SCQF Level 7 (e.g. SVQ Level 3) or equivalent experience.
Experience
  • Experience in fundraising, supporter care, or charity engagement.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated proactive, solutions-focused approach.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, databases/CRM systems, and digital fundraising or giving platforms.
  • Experience creating and maintaining spreadsheets and databases.
Knowledge & Competencies
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and produce statistical and performance information.
  • Knowledge of the third sector and fundraising administration and regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal ability.
  • Understanding of donor stewardship and supporter journeys.
Key Responsibilities Financial & Data Responsibility
  • Maintain accurate fundraising and donor records aligned with financial reconciliation requirements.
  • Process donations accurately and promptly, including Gift Aid where applicable.
Fundraising & Supporter Care
  • Act as a first point of contact for donors and supporters, providing timely and accurate responses.
  • Manage thank-you communications, acknowledgements, and stewardship touchpoints.
  • Ensure donor data is accurate and up to date within CRM systems, reports, and records.
Campaign & Event Support
  • Coordinate logistics for fundraising events and community activities.
  • Support the creation and distribution of fundraising campaign assets (digital and print).
  • Monitor campaign timelines and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Ensure fundraising communications are engaging, accessible, and compliant.
Administration & Reporting
  • Support corporate partnership administration, including agreements, invoicing, and benefits tracking.
  • Assist in identifying local fundraising opportunities.
  • Produce regular income and performance reports for senior management.
  • Contribute to improving fundraising processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Attend meetings as required, taking minutes and maintaining accurate records.
Compliance
  • Ensure fundraising activity complies with OSCR, Fundraising Standards, and GDPR.
  • Support compliant fundraising solicitation statements and activity records.
