Project Manager / Contracts Manager – Tiverton, Devon
Location: Tiverton (with projects across Devon)
Salary: £55,000 – 60,000 DOE + Package
Type: Full-time, Permanent

The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager / Contracts Manager to join a growing, family-owned main contractor. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in project delivery and a track record of managing both commercial and private residential construction schemes. This is a pivotal role supporting ongoing growth and increased project workload across the region.

You will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of schemes including up to £4m commercial projects throughout Devon inclusive of refurbishments, fit out, renovations, building services. The role involves regular site visits, managing the lifecycle of projects, reporting to an Area Manager and working closely with a dedicated Quantity Surveyor.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee project delivery from pre-construction to completion
  • Manage multiple schemes concurrently (values typically £250k to £4m)
  • Lead on-site teams (Site Managers, Supervisors, or Working Foremen)
  • Maintain programme schedules using project delivery software
  • Ensure compliance with CDM and H&S regulations
  • Attend and lead project meetings, preparing construction phase plans and progress reports
  • Support commercial team with procurement and subcontractor coordination
  • Use Microsoft Project and Microsoft 365 Apps to manage and report on projects
  • Travel between sites across Devon
Requirements:
  • Strong working knowledge of project management software
  • Proven success managing multiple contracts simultaneously
  • Solid all-round construction and contract knowledge
  • SMSTS, First Aid at Work, CSCS
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites
