We're working on behalf of a well-established and highly respected Top 50+50 accountancy practice with a strong presence across the South West. Known for their people-first approach, commitment to development, and a reputation for technical excellence, they're looking to appoint an experienced Audit Manager to join their team in Plymouth.

The Role
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity within the audit department, managing a diverse client portfolio across multiple sectors. You'll lead audit assignments from planning to completion, develop strong client relationships, and play a key role in mentoring junior team members.

Hybrid working is available, but travel to client sites and other offices in the region will be expected.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, manage, and deliver audit engagements with high attention to quality and compliance
  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements for both audit and non-audit clients
  • Support, coach, and supervise junior members of the audit team
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with a variety of clients
  • Translate complex technical issues into practical guidance and clear communication
  • Monitor performance metrics and suggest improvements to processes or delivery
  • Support departmental growth, business development, and networking initiatives

Ideal Candidate Profile
  • ACA or ACCA qualified (or finalist) with substantial audit experience in practice
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Technically solid in UK GAAP and International Auditing Standards
  • Excellent interpersonal and client-facing skills
  • Competent with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Familiarity with Caseware and/or Sage software is an advantage
  • Self-motivated, commercially aware, and team-oriented
